Mushroom Fritters Recipe

Your family will be coming back for seconds with these perfectly crispy mushroom fritters. Great served for breakfast or as an appetizer with homemade tzatziki and garlic hummus.

  • 1 package Misty Mountain Mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup hard cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp ground cumin

Add the olive oil and mushrooms to a skillet. Saute for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder, milk, and eggs. Stir in the mushrooms, cheese, and ground cumin. Heat more olive oil in a skillet until hot. Drop 2 tablespoons of batter at a time into the skillet. Pan fry until golden brown, then flip and repeat on the other side. Remove and rest each fritter on paper towel, repeating this process until all of the batter is used up.
