Christmas Mushroom Crostini Appetizer Recipe


CHRISTMAS MUSHROOM CROSTINI APPETIZER RECIPE

This Rosemary Mushroom Crostini recipe makes the perfect appetizer for Christmas dinner! With finely chopped mushrooms, fresh rosemary, red onion, garlic, pink peppercorns, sharp cheddar cheese, and Canadian parmesan, what's not to love?

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 loaf sourdough bread
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 5 1/2 cups Misty Mountain mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, minced
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Canadian parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Whole pink peppercorns
  • Rosemary

INSTRUCTIONS

Slice the bread into 1/2 inch rounds. Toast until golden and set aside. Saute the onions and garlic in butter on medium for about 1 minute. Add the mushrooms and saute for 7 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat. Stir in the heavy cream, rosemary, cheeses, salt, and pepper. Spread the toast with a spoonful of this mushroom mixture. Set on a baking sheet and broil until hot, about 2-3 minutes. Garnish with pink peppercorns and fresh rosemary sprigs. Enjoy warm.
